혼란스러웠던 1979년

shakedown 1979
어떤 제품이 정식으로 출시되기 직전에 이루어지는 최종 테스트를 shakedown이라고 하는데, 이제 막 청소년기를 앞둔 Billy Corgan이 겪었던 갖가지 테스트 같은 여러 경험과 혼란스러웠던 기분을 이렇게 표현한 것 같습니다.

사전적으로는 풍뎅이지만 다음 가사에 헤드라이트를 비춘다는 걸로 보아 폭스바겐의 비틀을 말하는 듯.
zipper blues
거처를 자주 옮기다 보면 짐을 자주 싸고 풀면서 zipper를 자주 여닫아야 하죠. 그래서 한 곳에 정착하지 못하고 여기저기 떠돌아야 하는 울적함을 zipper blues라고 합니다.
